The Dolphins could reach an NRL Grand Final in only their fourth season, strengthening their desire to retain coach Kristian Woolf beyond his current deal.
Australian Associated Press reports the club and Woolf are expected to finalise an extension after the season ends.
Although Woolf is contracted through 2027, chief executive Terry Reader wants to move quickly before rival clubs can approach him.
"That's something that will be taken care of quite quickly," Reader told AAP.
"the intention is for him to be a long-term coach at the club, and that's his intention as well."
Woolf joined the Dolphins as Wayne Bennett's assistant in 2023 and became the succession plan when Bennett returned to South Sydney before 2025.
Reader said Woolf's Super League success and international work with Tonga made him an obvious head-coaching candidate.
"Woolfie wasn't an assistant coach who we were hoping knew how to be a head coach," Reader said.
"He'd won three Super League premierships in a row with St Helens, and he'd done what he had with Tonga."
"Woolfie's got a lot of respect from everyone in the game, but especially the playing group."
"In a similar vein to Wayne, he's a great man manager and connects very well with the players."
