Dolphins' landmark season sets new benchmark

Dolphins smash Warriors to end debut season on a high

Herbie Farnworth led the Dolphins' post-season honours, winning the Arthur Beetson Medal, Jesse Bromwich Players' Player Award and Best Back award after a standout 2026 campaign.

Farnworth and Selwyn Cobbo were also named in the Dally M Team of the Year, while Jamayne Isaako received the Dally M Top-Point Scorer award.

The Dolphins finished third in their most successful NRL season since joining the competition in 2023, under coach Kristian Woolf.

They reached the Finals for the first time, beating the New Zealand Warriors in a Qualifying Final to claim their maiden Finals victory and a home Preliminary Final at Suncorp Stadium.

A defeat by the Sydney Roosters ended their campaign one win short of a Grand Final appearance.

At the club's annual awards, Max Plath won Best Forward and the Education Award, co-captain Isaiya Katoa was named Most Consistent Player, and Brian Pouniu earned Rookie of the Year.

Cobbo received the Wahl Fan MVP Award.

Jake Averillo, Isaako and Kodi Nikorima will leave, while Daniel Saifiti and Ray Stone are retiring from professional rugby league.

Dolphins players will represent Australia, England, Tonga, Fiji, Samoa and New Zealand at the 2026 Rugby League World Cup.

The club now aims to build on its landmark season in 2027.
