Thomas Flegler is set to return to the Dolphins lineup next week after an extended absence due to shoulder surgery and nerve issues.

As anticipation builds regarding the Dolphins' potential impact this season, fans are eager to see both Flegler and Tom Gilbert, who suffered a ruptured pec in early 2025, back in their colors.

With Flegler and Gilbert possibly leading the team alongside Daniel Saifiti, Felise Kaufusi, and newly re-signed Kurt Donoghue, the Dolphins are poised to shake things up in the competition.

In a positive development for fans, Flegler is excited to step back onto the field. He expressed to Dolphins Media that he is ready to let his performance speak for itself now.

"It'll be a sense of relief that the pre-season is finished. I'm sick of training, I just want to go and play finally," Flegler shared.

"There was doubt in terms of how successful the surgery was going to be, but I was very hopeful the whole time. Luckily, it went pretty well. I've had a reasonably good recovery, and since Christmas I've been in training at 100 per cent. The last box to tick is just to play a game of footy."

Despite uncertainties about his return to top-grade play, Flegler praised the Dolphins' medical staff for their unwavering support during a challenging two-year recovery period.

"The medical staff at the Dolphins were unreal through the whole process," he noted.
