Salary-cap pressure at the Dolphins left Jamayne Isaako without a contract offer, despite his preference to stay in Brisbane.
Since joining in 2023, he established himself on the right wing, scoring tries and converting at a high rate, and helped the club reach its first NRL preliminary final.
Isaako told NewsWire: "Ideally, we wanted to stay in Brisbane."
"I was enjoying my time at the Dolphins, and at the time, they couldn't come to the table with anything."
He said his manager repeatedly reported that the Dolphins had nothing ready, while Melbourne wanted to sign him straight away.
"It was a tough decision, one that my partner and I didn't take lightly because we've got two young kids as well. But we're looking forward to this next chapter."
Now a Storm player, Isaako said: "I'm officially a Melbourne Storm player now, and I'm looking forward to rubbing shoulders with the likes of Jahrome Hughes, Cameron Munster and Harry Grant,"
