Dolphins centre, Tesi Niu, is gearing up to make a splash with a new team next season as he embarks on the next chapter of his rugby league journey outside of Queensland.
A three-time Tongan international and former Australian Schoolboys representative, Niu made the move to The Dolphins from the Brisbane Broncos with hopes of solidifying his spot in the outside backs.
However, with only seven appearances this season compared to 17 in 2023, Niu found himself playing second fiddle to the likes of Herbie Farnworth, Jake Averillo, Jack Bostock, and Jamayne Isaako.
The recent additions of Averillo and Farnworth have paved the way for the talented youngster to seek greener pastures and pursue a better opportunity elsewhere.
With his contract set to expire at the end of the season, Niu is poised to bid farewell to the NRL and join forces with the Leigh Leopards in the Super League, under the guidance of coach Adrian Lam.
