Jason Demetriou's time with the South Sydney Rabbitohs was far from successful.

His experience in Redfern was marked by challenges, ultimately leading to his departure from the club. Now coaching the London Broncos, Demetriou reflects on the lessons he learned from this difficult period.

In an interview on Sky Sports' The Bench, he shared insights on his NRL coaching experience and how it has shaped him as a leader.

"I'm quite passionate as a coach," he stated.

"[However] being able to stay emotionally in control of the way I'm thinking and feeling at certain times, I think I've done a lot of work on that type of thing."

Demetriou acknowledged that the responsibilities of an NRL coach extend beyond just strategy or statistics; the entire organization looks to him for direction.

"The thing about going to the NRL as a head coach is that it's not just about coaching a footy team," Demetriou said.
