The South Sydney Rabbitohs were left reeling after a disappointing 28-18 loss to the Brisbane Broncos at Lang Park, with coach Jason Demetriou delivering a scathing assessment of his team's performance.
With two losses in a row, the Rabbitohs are now searching for answers as they struggle to find their rhythm on the field.
Demetriou didn't mince his words, describing the match as a "horror show" filled with sloppy mistakes and a lack of focus.
The Rabbitohs' completion rate of just 65 per cent was a clear indicator of their struggles to maintain possession and execute their game plan effectively.
"It was a horror show of really little things that kept putting pressure on ourselves," lamented Demetriou in a post-match interview.
"We need to tidy up the effort and desire if we want to see how good this footy team can be."
The loss to the Broncos comes on the heels of a defeat against the Manly Sea Eagles in the Las Vegas season opener, painting a troubling picture for the Rabbitohs as they aim to turn their fortunes around.
Demetriou and his team will have to dig deep and rally together to overcome their early-season struggles and make a statement in the highly competitive world of Rugby League.
