A fiery debate erupted on live TV between NRL legends Paul Gallen and Brad Fittler and Johnathan Thurston following the incident involving Reece Walsh and Taylan May, with the former Brisbane Broncos fullback sustaining a nasty gash below his eye.
Gallen, Fittler, and Thurston couldn't see eye-to-eye on whether May should have been penalized for his contact on Walsh during Brisbane's clash with the Panthers.
May collided head-first with Walsh after a Broncos attacking raid, leaving the young fullback bleeding and unable to continue due to vision issues.
Despite receiving five stitches and being cleared of a facial fracture, Walsh may still be sidelined for the upcoming game against the Cowboys.
The Panthers are also waiting on the availability of May, who was put on report for the incident.
The Bunker ruled that May had a duty to maneuver during the tackle to avoid head contact, adding fuel to the fiery debate between the NRL greats.
