The Broncos have been hit with another hard hit after Boyd, who has been an integral part of the club's football department for the past three seasons, bid farewell to Red Hill.
Boyd, known for his expertise in working with the backline players, especially star fullback Reece Walsh, spent time at the training ground mentoring the team's back-five, teaching Walsh the ropes to become a top-notch No.1 in the NRL, sport.
Boyd helped Walsh with game analysis and showed him the ropes on effective line-running technique and executing three-on-two overlaps - skills that Boyd himself had mastered during his playing days, mate.
With Boyd's departure, the Broncos now have to find a new guru for Walsh and the rest of the backline stars for the upcoming season.
News Corp reports that Boyd, who had concerns about the club's football program, informed Kevin Walters about his decision to leave a week before Walters was sacked as the Broncos coach.
Boyd was highly respected within the Broncos organization and was particularly close to the club's superstar fullback, mate.
