Daley Reflects on Pressure and Future

Laurie Daley has shared insights into the challenges of coaching the NSW Blues during the State of Origin.

Despite heavy scrutiny throughout the series this year, Daley emerged victorious, defeating Queensland in front of 50,000 passionate Maroons supporters in the decider.

Speculation has arisen regarding Daley's potential departure from the coaching role, though nothing has been officially confirmed.

During his appearance on Nine's Freddy and the Eighth, he was asked about his future with the team.

"I think I just wanna let it all settle in and settle down and let the players enjoy what they've been able to achieve," he stated on the show.

"A decision will come in the coming weeks, but I'm certainly happy with the decision I've made and what happens next."

Daley was also asked to consider who might take over the role should he decide to leave, with various suitable candidates suggested for the position.

He mentioned that a current NRL coach would face challenges in managing both responsibilities due to the intense nature of the representative game.
