D'Acre Departs as Knights Secure Young's Future

Las Vegas combine winner exits Knights as Young closes in on new deal

Marcus D'Acre, the recent winner of the Las Vegas combine, has left Newcastle to join Israel Folau's former team in Japan as the Knights work towards finalizing a new long-term contract for standout winger Dominic Young.

Newcastle is set to enter its fifth finals series in seven years, showing great improvement from last season when the team finished last, under new coach Justin Holbrook.

Young has been a key player in his second season in the Hunter, scoring 20 tries in 23 games, and negotiations are progressing for a deal that will secure him in Newcastle through at least the end of 2030.

Although Young is staying put, D'Acre has discreetly left the club following his release.
