Newtown will meet Penrith in the 2026 NSW Cup grand final, seeking its third grand final appearance in eight seasons.
Cronulla and Newtown have agreed to extend their NSW Cup partnership for three years, through the end of 2029.
Since 2015, Cronulla has supplied players and support staff to the Jets, providing Sharks-contracted players with a professional development environment.
The partnership's record includes a state and national double for the Jets in 2019.
Newtown were minor premiers and preliminary finalists in 2022, after two Covid-affected seasons, and won an NW Premiership in 2024.
Sharks CEO Dino Mezzatesta and Jets CEO Stuart McCarthy announced the extension.
Mezzatesta said, "The partnership is seamless."
McCarthy said, "Newtown Jets are thrilled that the wonderful partnership with the mighty Cronulla Sharks will continue for a further three years,"
