The Parramatta Eels and Zac Lomax are scheduled to appear in court on Thursday, February 12, and Friday, February 13, in a bid to resolve their ongoing off-field disputes.

Multiple sources have confirmed the trial dates.

The Eels have initiated legal proceedings against Lomax, asserting that the winger is not complying with the stipulations of his release from the team.

Lomax's management has stated that discussions have been ongoing with the Melbourne Storm. He feels that he should be permitted to join the Victorian-based team, while the Eels insist they must receive compensation for him to do so.

The former Origin winger was released by the Eels at the conclusion of the 2025 season, as the club indicated he was looking into opportunities outside the NRL.

However, those prospects did not materialize due to the two-year delay of the Saudi Arabian-backed R360 competition. Lomax had also been associated with the Brumbies and Western Force in Super Rugby, yet he now appears more focused on remaining within the NRL.

This courtroom clash coincides with the opening weekend of the 2026 NRL pre-season challenge for all clubs not heading to Las Vegas. On the Friday evening, the Storm will compete against the Canberra Raiders, while the Eels are set to face the Cronulla Sharks at Henson Park on Sunday evening.
