Corey Parker rejects NRL finals play-in

‘Don’t you dare’: Corey Parker’s wife dishes on NRL great’s gross wedding night act

The NRL is considering changes to its finals as the competition prepares to grow to as many as 20 teams by 2029.

Former Brisbane Broncos forward Corey Parker has rejected a play-in format and urged the league to take a different approach.

Earlier this week, reports said the NRL wanted to develop its own version of Wildcard Weekend, which has been successful in the AFL.

The proposed expansion could bring in the Perth Bears and PNG Chiefs, alongside either a second New Zealand team or a fifth Queensland team.

Under the reported finals plan, 10 teams would qualify instead of eight, with seventh facing 10th and eighth meeting ninth for the final two places.

The top six would have a week off, while Parker has made a strong suggestion about the change he wants for the finals.
