Cooper Elkins, a product of the Manly Sea Eagles, has secured a contract extension with the club until the end of 2028.
The promising fullback, who can also play on the wing, was part of this year's SG Ball squad, coming close to the grand final, which was ultimately won by the Sydney Roosters.
He wrapped up the season on the wing in the under 19s but had impressive outings at fullback earlier on, leading to his debut at the Jersey Flegg level.
Moving to the under 21s competition has challenged Elkins, but he has adjusted well and is poised to further develop his game on the Northern Beaches over the next two years.
His management announced a two-year extension that solidifies his contract through 2028, a critical period for Elkins as he aims to advance into Manly's development squad or higher.
Currently, Elkins is believed to be under a pathways deal with Manly for the next few years.
If he maintains his current rate of improvement, the young talent will have opportunities in Manly's backline moving forward.
With Reuben Garrick set to depart at season's end and Tom Trbojevic nearing the latter stages of his career, Elkins has a chance to make an impact.
Manly possesses a strong pool of talent in their first-grade ranks, including Lehi Hopoate and Tolutau Koula, but Elkins could emerge as a key player if he continues on this trajectory.
