St George Illawarra Dragons co-captain Damien Cook has expressed strong support for his former teammate Keaon Koloamatangi, labeling him as "one of the best props" in the NRL and suggesting he would be the ideal addition to the Dragons roster.
As Koloamatangi's game continues to improve, particularly following his selection for the 2025 Ashes Series representing Australia, he is contemplating his future. He will be off-contract at the close of the 2026 NRL season.
The 27-year-old is currently open to discussions with other teams and has received a lucrative four-year deal from the Parramatta Eels. Additionally, reports indicate that the Dragons are prepared to present a $5 million contract spanning five years to secure his talents.
Meanwhile, his current team, the South Sydney Rabbitohs, is intensifying their offer in hopes of retaining him, while the Sydney Roosters also remain interested.
Koloamatangi is recognized as one of the most sought-after players in the market. Cook has mentioned that they have had conversations regarding Koloamatangi's future, expressing his wish for him to join the Dragons, referred to by their colors as the Red and White.
"I'd be lying if I said I hadn't spoken to him," Cook told The Daily Telegraph regarding his former teammate.
"He's someone I've a very biased opinion of because I played alongside him and I know what he brings and I'd love to have him here at the club."
