The young woman who stole the show with her Welcome to Country at the State of Origin series has revealed the intense backlash she faced.

In a true test of her mental toughness, Savannah Fynn is finally speaking out about the "overwhelming" experience.

Although Fynn's powerful welcome at State of Origin Game 1 in Sydney was well-received by many, it drew criticism from none other than controversial radio host Kyle Sandilands, who suggested that the practice had become too commonplace.

Fynn has bravely faced the haters, sharing that she was attacked for her appearance following her heartfelt speech.

In an interview with Stellar, she admitted, "I was so nervous about messing up in front of such a huge crowd.

But once I finished, I felt a weight lift off my shoulders.

I rushed over to my nan, one of my beloved Elders, for a much-needed hug."

Despite the negative noise surrounding her performance, Fynn remains resilient and determined to continue sharing her Indigenous culture with the world.
