The Brisbane Broncos have announced that Coby Black has been granted an immediate release from his contract to join the Canberra Raiders.
Having been part of the Broncos system since his youth, Black has developed into a halfback under the mentorship of Captain Adam Reynolds.
In 2025, he led the Queensland Under 19s State of Origin team, where he not only scored a try but also kicked the decisive field goal in their thrilling 23-22 victory over the New South Wales Blues.
During the 2025 Queensland Cup season, Black played 16 games for the Souths Logan Magpies, recording six tries, eight try assists, nine line break assists, and 11 offloads.
NRL Head Coach Michael Maguire expressed that Coby will be greatly missed at Red Hill.
