Selwyn Cobbo, a Queensland Origin and Test player, has agreed to a one-year deal with the Dolphins for the 2026 NRL season.
This addition is expected to enhance the Dolphins' backline, which is already regarded as formidable.
With this agreement, Cobbo will remain in Brisbane, and his presence will complement the existing talents under Head Coach Kristian Woolf.
Hailing from Cherbourg, just a couple of hours from the Dolphins' base, Cobbo is versatile and can perform in various positions within the outside backs.
His experience and skills will bolster a Dolphins back five that includes notable players such as English international Herbie Farnworth, Kangaroo Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow, Kiwi Test player Jamayne Isaako, Jake Averillo, and Jack Bostock.
The team's structure is further strengthened by two Test-experienced halves: Kiwi international Kodi Nikorima and promising Tongan player Isaiya Katoa.
Dolphins' CEO Terry Reader expressed confidence in Cobbo's potential contribution to the squad, emphasizing their awareness of what he brings to the team dynamics.
This strategic acquisition positions the Dolphins for a competitive edge in the league.
