Wests Tigers coach Benji Marshall has raised questions about the Bunker's intervention limits following a controversial decision earlier in the match.
During an attacking play, Tigers halfback Jock Madden received a significant blow from opposing forward Morgan Knowles, resulting in his exit from the field for a Head Injury Assessment (HIA), which he subsequently failed.
Despite the worrying nature of the contact and Madden's need to leave the game, the incident was not reviewed, and Knowles was not penalized.
The lack of penalty shocked several of Madden's teammates, prompting Marshall to express his confusion regarding the Bunker's role in such situations.
Marshall remarked, "I don't know what the Bunker is allowed and not allowed to do anymore. I'm not sure."
This situation has reignited discussions around the effectiveness and clarity of officiating protocols in the sport.
