Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad of the NZ Warriors has been named as the only player from his team to be included in the New Zealand Kiwis' 21-man squad for the Pacific Championships.

This tournament is set to begin later this month.

The news was reported by warriors.kiwi, and it has been revealed that Nicoll-Klokstad is one of 12 players who previously played against the Kangaroos in the Rugby League World Cup semifinal last November.

Unfortunately, three other Warriors players were unavailable for the international program that concludes the season.

Shaun Johnson, the talented halfback who had an impressive 2023 season, opted out due to two leg injuries, including a calf injury that prevented him from participating in the play-off against Penrith.

Marata Niukore and Dallin Watene-Zelezniak, both of whom suffered leg injuries late in the season, also couldn't join the squad.

Although Nicoll-Klokstad doesn't have any current teammates on the team, he will find familiar faces in former Canberra players Joseph Tapine and Matthew Timoko.
