Nathan Cleary, halfback for the NSW Blues, has been awarded the Brad Fittler Medal for the second time in his career, recognizing his status as the state's MVP for the 2026 State of Origin series.
In July, he led the Blues to a surprising 2-1 series victory against 50,000 enthusiastic Queensland fans in the final held in Brisbane, solidifying his legacy in Origin history.
With this performance, he also secured the Wally Lewis Medal, the MVP recognition for any state, concluding the series with three tries, three assists, two line breaks, five tackle busts, and an average of 60 running metres.
Cleary received the award during a Blues event in Sydney on Monday night, presented by outgoing Blues coach Laurie Daley.
This marks his second time receiving the NSW award, as he previously won it in 2020 for his contributions to the state.
Additionally, second rower Hudson Young was awarded the True Blue crown, which celebrates players who embody the cultural values of the NSW Blues jersey.
Newcastle Knights hooker Diesel Hagan was named Under 19s Men's Player of the Year, expected to shine when he steps up to the top grade.
Meanwhile, Cleary's teammate at the Panthers, Jaxen Edgar, was honored as the NSW Cup Player of the Year, with the team leading the ladder on the back of 16 wins and five losses.
The reserve grade team is currently in the best position since their title win in 2022.
