Cleary crushes English Super League hopes with denial

LeagueNews.co | Jason Patrick

Rugby League star Nathan Cleary, captain of the Penrith Panthers, has shut down any chatter about a potential move to the English Super League, mate.

The talented halfback, who has been instrumental in leading his team to four consecutive NRL titles, has been rumored to be eyeing a move to England due to his partner's soccer career there.

Currently, Cleary and his partner are doing the long-distance thing, with visits whenever possible.

However, Penrith is adamant about keeping both Cleary and his father Ivan, who has been coaching the team through their successful championship streak.

With contracts in place until 2027, Cleary junior is grounded in Australia for the time being.

Attending the Super League grand final in England, he has made it clear he's committed to staying with the Panthers for the long haul.
