Veteran halfback Daly Cherry-Evans has made an important career decision.
The former captain of the Manly Sea Eagles has officially signed with the Sydney Roosters for the 2026 NRL season, concluding a notable 15-year tenure on the Northern Beaches.
The Roosters announced the signing on Friday morning, ending months of speculation regarding the future of the 36-year-old playmaker.
During his time with the Sea Eagles, Cherry-Evans played 352 games, leading the club for much of the past decade and securing a premiership in his rookie season in 2011.
However, the Sea Eagles could not finalize a new agreement with their captain earlier this year, opening the door for his move to Bondi.
The deal with the Roosters is reportedly valued at around $500,000 for the 2026 season, including an option for Cherry-Evans for an additional year in 2027.
This transition reconnects Cherry-Evans with several of his Queensland Maroons teammates and enhances the experience of a Sydney squad expected to compete for the premiership next season.
