Chasing the NRL Dream: Kynan Toevai

Kynan Toevai, a promising talent for the Sydney Roosters, is making waves in the SG Ball Cup competition as he strives to reach the pinnacle of Rugby League in the NRL.

Hailing from Parramatta, the towering front-rower stands at 192cm and weighs in at 108kg.

He is part of the new generation of forwards emerging through the Roosters' pathways program, looking to fill the void left by the departure of key players like Jared Waerea-Hargraves, Joseph Manu, and Luke Keary.

Recruited by talent-spotter extraordinaire Clint Zammit, Toevai has signed a two-year deal with the Roosters, aiming to crack the Jersey Flegg Cup and NSW Cup squads while impressing the club's decision-makers.

After stints in the development systems of the Parramatta Eels and South Sydney Rabbitohs, Toevai found his home at the Bondi-based club, following in the footsteps of his idol, 2014 Grand Final hero Sam Burgess.

In an exclusive interview with Zero Tackle, the determined teenager opens up about his Rugby League journey, his mentors, and his aspirations as he pursues his dream of making it to the NRL and achieving success on the grand stage.
