Wests Tigers utility back Charlie Staines recently discussed his future with the club as his contract nears its end.
After returning to the lineup for a match against the Sydney Roosters, Staines reflected on a season where he has played less frequently compared to 2024, where he was one of the team's most consistent players.
Despite being overlooked in favor of teammates Jeral Skelton and Sunia Turuva, Staines has made the most of his opportunities in first-grade.
In his limited appearances this season, he has played five matches, scoring four tries, achieving three line breaks, and making ten tackle busts, while averaging 174 running meters per game.
Although his playing time has been restricted, Staines has demonstrated his capability as a valuable backup.
As he approaches the end of his contract, Staines has expressed a desire to stay with the Wests Tigers beyond 2026.
He stated, "For sure, for sure.
Hopefully, I can play some good footy and we'll see what happens from there," indicating his commitment to the club and optimism about his future.
