The Catalans Dragons have officially confirmed the sacking of their head coach, Steve McNamara, after eight years with the club.

In their statement, the club said, "After eight years, and without questioning his qualities, the Catalans Dragons have decided not to continue their collaboration with their head coach Steve McNamara - a decision that has been accepted by him."

This decision comes on the heels of the team ending a seven-game losing streak with a decisive 32-0 victory over Huddersfield.

Despite this win, the Dragons find themselves five points away from the play-off positions as they prepare for an upcoming match against Wakefield Trinity this weekend.
