Ricky Stuart highlighted the crucial role of Canberra's leadership group, known as 'Club 82', in his son's NRL debut.

Captain Joseph Tapine took the initiative to inform Jed Stuart that he would be starting against the Wests Tigers, despite Ricky being the head coach.

This decision came after rookie Savelio Tamale was sidelined due to a knee injury.

The leadership group's confidence in Jed proved justified, as he scored a first-half try, contributing to the Raiders' 16-12 victory at Campbelltown.

With the captain's support, Jed showcased his readiness for the NRL, celebrating his debut as he turns 24 the following day.
