Canterbury have secured Jesse McLean for the 2027 season, although the club has not officially announced any signings.
The 21-year-old outside back can play centre or wing and will compete for opportunities at Belmore.
Connor Votano and Penrith reserve hooker Freddy Lussick are also reportedly headed to the Bulldogs.
McLean came through Penrith's junior system as a highly regarded prospect, once considered more promising than his brother Casey.
Casey has since become an Origin player, while Jesse has made only four NRL appearances since debuting for the Panthers in 2023.
He also played once for the Maori All Stars in 2025.
"Obviously pretty gutted that we won't be on the same team," Jesse told the publication.
"It'll be a weird feeling at first, but I'm super excited for the opportunity that he'll be given [at the Bulldogs]."
His availability comes as Bronson Xerri prepares to join Melbourne, Marcelo Montoya retires, and Stephen Crichton is seemingly being viewed as a half.
The Bulldogs still have nine officially available roster places as Cameron Ciraldo's staff plan a response to the club's poor 2026 season.
