The Roosters beat Canberra 20-10 in Saturday night's NRLW preliminary final, securing a place in their third consecutive grand final.
A disputed bunker decision stopped the minor premiers' comeback and is expected to dominate discussion for the next 24 hours.
With 24 minutes remaining and Canberra trailing 10-4, Lili Boyle broke through the Roosters' defence and appeared to ground the ball.
Referee Kasey Badger ruled Boyle held up; despite an initial replay appearing to show a try, bunker official Liam Kennedy found insufficient evidence to overturn the decision.
Raiders players began celebrating after that replay, but the Roosters scored minutes later and held on for victory.
Canberra coach Darrin Borthwick said someone riding a skateboard outside Allianz Stadium could do a better job in the bunker.
"Every day of the week (she scored). the game is going crazy," he said.
Roosters winger Brydie Parker maintained that her pink boots had stopped Boyle scoring a crucial try that would have levelled the match.
The controversy came during a weekend when two NRL bunker calls stunned fans.
