Canberra Raiders discuss 2027 Wagga game

Hudson Young celebrates victory with Canberra Raiders

Wagga Wagga last hosted an NRL match in 2023, when Canberra beat the Dolphins in a high-scoring game.

After skipping regional New South Wales in 2026, the Raiders are negotiating with Wagga Wagga City Council about returning to the Riverina in 2027.

The club said: "The Canberra Raiders welcome last night's decision by Wagga Wagga City Council to continue negotiations with the club about bringing NRL content to the Riverina in 2027,"

Canberra beat Penrith by four points in Mudgee in 2025, its most recent regional home game.

The Raiders are also discussing their 2027 home-match allocation with the NRL, while council negotiations continue alongside those talks.

The full draw is due Monday, November 16, the day after the Rugby League World Cup concludes; a Wagga decision may not be reached by then.

Separately, Hudson Young's long-term extension offer has been taken off the table, and Canberra is seriously weighing up Riverina product Liam Martin.
