Players to watch: Titans firepower set to shine in Origin opener

This Thursday, the Women's State of Origin kicks off at Suncorp Stadium, and five Gold Coast Titans are set to shine.

Three Titans players will represent Queensland in Maroon, while two will don the Blue jersey for New South Wales.

Jaime Chapman, who was named NSW women's player of the year in the 2024 Origin series, returns with "unfinished business" after last year's series loss to the Harvey Norman Queensland Maroons.

The 23-year-old overcame a back fracture sustained during the Indigenous All Stars match in February and has worked tirelessly to make the Blues squad.

With three tries in five Origin appearances since her debut in 2023, including a remarkable length-of-the-field try in last year's series opener, Chapman is eager to display her skills in what promises to be an exhilarating series.

While Shaylee Bent's participation in the opening clash isn't confirmed, the versatile back rower is in contention for a return in her fourth Origin series, should she be activated.

The rivalry will add intensity to the match, with the Titans' firepower expected to play a significant role in both teams' performances.
