The NZ Warriors are currently in second place with 29 points as they enter the final three rounds of their regular season in the New South Wales Cup.
They will be participating in a double header with the NRL side, starting with a match against the Western Suburbs Magpies at FMG Waikato Stadium in Hamilton on Saturday night.
Following that, they will face the in-form Sea Eagles on Friday, August 18, and conclude their regular season campaign against the St George Illawarra Dragons on August 26.
In 2017, the Warriors finished second with 36 points, 13 wins, four draws, and five losses, narrowly missing out on the grand final.
They also finished second in 2011 with 37 points, 16 wins, one draw, and six losses, reaching the decider but losing 28-30 to Canterbury Bankstown in the final moments.
The current 2023 side, led by coach Slade Griffin, has recorded 12 wins, one draw, and eight losses after 21 rounds, scoring 550 points (the second best in the competition) and conceding 410 points (the third best).
The Western Suburbs Magpies have dropped to 11th place on the ladder, trailing six points behind eighth-placed Penrith, after losing their last three matches.
However, in round five in April, they handed the Warriors their first defeat of the season with a score of 22-10.
