The Canberra Raiders have emerged victorious in a nail-biting clash against the Tigers, securing a crucial 22-18 win at GIO Stadium Canberra to boost their chances of making it to the finals.

In the absence of Jarrod Croker, who was sidelined with a hamstring injury, Jordan Rapana stepped up to fill the fullback position for the Raiders.

The Tigers wasted no time in targeting Rapana, who donned the #1 jersey for only the second time this season, but the seasoned campaigner skillfully defused any pressure thrown his way.

In an early scoring opportunity, Albert Hopoate appeared to have crossed the try line in the 12th minute, but the try was disallowed as he lost possession over the line.

The Tigers also had their chance a minute later, with Jahream Bula seemingly scoring, but it was ruled out due to a double movement.

It was the home team who eventually broke the deadlock, with Jack Wighton executing a chip kick for Sebastian Kris to score in the left corner.

Unfortunately, Fogarty's conversion attempt from the sideline was unsuccessful, leaving the score at 4-0 in favor of the Raiders in the 26th minute.
