Sharks halfback Nicho Hynes, who was recently overlooked for State of Origin selection, is determined to showcase his abilities as a clutch performer by guiding his team to the finals in 2023.

Despite not being deemed ready for the Origin arena, Hynes remains optimistic about his prospects.

The Sharks ended a three-game losing streak by defeating the Rabbitohs 26-16 in a crucial match that could define their season.

This victory not only served as a confidence boost for the team but also for their State of Origin rookie.

Following his brief appearance at centre in Game One, the 27-year-old playmaker's confidence took a hit when he was dropped from the Blues squad.

However, Hynes is now focused on demonstrating his composure and resilience as he leads the Sharks' charge towards a top four finish.
