The NRL Bunker will primarily intervene in instances of foul play during matches only when the incidents are deemed significant.
NRL CEO Andrew Abdo clarified that while players committing high tackles will face disciplinary actions, the Bunker will step in to advise referees only in serious cases that were not observed on the field.
Recently, 18 players were sin-binned during the ANZAC Round matches, with a few receiving penalties based on Bunker recommendations concerning earlier incidents.
Notably, Wests Tigers player Fonua Pole and Manly's Siosiua Taukeiaho were both charged with Grade 1 Careless High Tackle offences following Bunker interventions.
