Bulldogs suffer double blow with injuries to forwards

The Canterbury Bulldogs have been hit by the injury bug, with Jaeman Salmon set to spend up to six weeks on the sidelines.

Ryan Sutton is also facing an extended period out of action, adding to the team's woes.

Salmon, who was already set to miss the next two weeks due to suspension for a dangerous tackle on Te Maire Martin in the thrilling golden point victory over the New Zealand Warriors, now faces an even longer absence.

The club's director of football, Phil Gould, revealed post-game that Salmon had suffered a displaced jaw fracture requiring surgery.

The surgery, described as 'complicated' by Gould, was a success, and Salmon is expected to make a return in Round 24.

The Bulldogs will have to dig deep and rally together to cover for the absence of these two key forwards, as they continue their campaign in the tough world of Rugby League.
