The Canterbury Bulldogs have made impressive strides in recruitment lately, and their retention strategies are shaping up to be just as effective.

As reported by the Daily Telegraph, the Belmore-based club is poised to achieve a significant milestone by extending the contract of one of their most crucial players.

NSW Blues center and Bulldogs captain, Stephen Crichton, is preparing to sign a lucrative $5 million extension with the team, which will keep him in blue and white until 2030.

This new deal will allow 'Critta' to earn approximately $1 million annually, with a notable pay bump slated for 2026 and 2027.

Crichton's contributions to the Bulldogs' achievements are invaluable, and due to his reputation as arguably the best center in the league, it was inevitable that the Bulldogs would act to secure his future.

He won't be the only player at Belmore receiving a significant contract extension; reports indicate that the club is also eager to lock down fullback Connor Tracey on a long-term deal.

Tracey has delivered outstanding performances while overcoming challenges to cement his position as the team's No. 1.
