Cameron Ciraldo expressed frustration following the Bulldogs' 22-18 loss to the Broncos, acknowledging that his team has not yet realized its attacking potential this season.
The Bulldogs had a commanding 18-0 lead in the second half, but they ultimately conceded four straight tries, failing to maintain their advantage as their reshuffled backline struggled under pressure.
Mid-season recruit Lachlan Galvin, initially listed to start on the bench, took on a pivotal role at five-eighth alongside Toby Sexton, while Matt Burton moved to center due to the absence of Stephen Crichton and Jacob Kiraz on Origin duty.
Although Galvin contributed to a try with a well-placed kick, he also made two critical errors and showed difficulty connecting with his teammates, particularly on the left edge.
This was only his second start since transferring from the Wests Tigers, and the inconsistent performance raised concerns about the Bulldogs' offensive cohesion.
Ciraldo highlighted that the current situation is even more pronounced considering the Bulldogs were leading the league in attack prior to Galvin's arrival.
The upcoming months are crucial for determining how their spine will be structured as they approach the finals.
He remarked, "I don't think the attack has reached its potential all year, so we're searching for that, as most clubs are."
The game's outcome underscores the challenges the Bulldogs face in finding their rhythm, particularly with a reconfigured roster, as they aim to fulfill expectations as premiership contenders.
