The Canterbury Bulldogs have undergone a remarkable transformation, climbing from 15th to 3rd place in just two years.
Key to this resurgence has been the acquisition of stars such as Stephen Crichton and Viliame Kikau, whose contributions have greatly influenced the club's fortunes. However, none of these successes would have come to fruition without the leadership of NRL mastermind Phil Gould.
Gould has established himself as a legendary figure in rugby league, consistently bringing success to every team he has been a part of.
Given his impressive track record, one might assume that securing his services for the long term would be challenging.
Yet, Bulldogs chairperson Adam Driussi has shared that maintaining Gould at Belmore was surprisingly straightforward.
Driussi recounted the simplicity of the negotiations that resulted in Gould signing an extension valid through 2031, stating, "The contract was probably as easy as a contract gets," as he mentioned in an interview with the Daily Telegraph.
