Canterbury Bulldogs players Josh Curran and Jake Turpin have been charged by the Match Review Committee (MRC) for high tackles during their recent game against the South Sydney Rabbitohs.
Despite the charges, both players have avoided suspensions.
Reports from zerotackle.com indicate that Curran and Turpin were fortunate to receive only Grade 1 careless high tackle charges, considering the severity of their actions.
Curran was specifically charged for a first-half tackle on Jamie Humphreys, which occurred just before the game was temporarily halted due to lightning at Accor Stadium.
Although Curran had another tackle later in the match that appeared to be more serious, it was not reported by the officials, leading to the MRC focusing on the earlier incident.
For his charge against Humphreys, Curran faces a $3,000 fine if he submits an early guilty plea.
If he contests it and is found guilty at the NRL judiciary, he could be suspended for two matches.
