Nearly a month after the Bulldogs' General Manager of Football, Phil Gould, dismissed rumors about Matt Burton's potential early departure, head coach Cameron Ciraldo has reinforced those statements regarding the five-eighth's future, despite ongoing reports linking him to at least three rival teams.
Burton, who is under contract for another two seasons until the end of 2027, has become the subject of multiple rumors over the past month suggesting he could leave the club sooner than anticipated.
The 25-year-old, a two-time representative for the NSW Blues and a five-time international for Australia, has been pivotal for the Bulldogs since his arrival in 2022, helping transform the team from last place to premiership contenders.
Despite his contributions, speculation about his exit persists, fueled by the signing of Lachlan Galvin and the rise of Under-19s NSW Blues halfback Mitchell Woods.
Burton has been linked to several clubs, including the Gold Coast Titans, North Queensland Cowboys, and Perth Bears. Ciraldo has publicly addressed these rumors, asserting that Burton will remain with the Bulldogs and expressing confusion over the origins of the speculation.

"I don't know where that's coming from. We've spoke to Burto about that and he's got no idea where it's coming from. I've got no idea where it's come from," Ciraldo stated on Kenty Primetime.
