Kevin Walters calls out the Broncos after sad Adam Reynolds situation ahead of milestone game

Former Broncos coach Kevin Walters has voiced his concern over the media burden placed on Adam Reynolds as he approaches his 300th NRL game.

Despite being a significant milestone for the veteran halfback, Reynolds is currently facing tough times with the team amid a disappointing season.

Walters, who was dismissed as coach at the end of last season, expressed that it's been "tough" to see Reynolds having to defend the team rather than enjoy the celebration of his achievement.

Since Michael Maguire took over as coach, the Broncos had a promising start but have since dropped significantly, losing six out of their last seven games.

The pressure on Maguire is mounting, with figures like Ben Ikin and Darren Lockyer commenting on the struggles the team is facing.

Walters emphasized the need for the current players to step up in support of Reynolds, who led the team to the 2023 NRL grand final under Walters' coaching and previously won a premiership with the South Sydney Rabbitohs.

He underscored the importance of the team showing solidarity and respect for Reynolds during this challenging time.

"It's a great milestone for him.

He has a beautiful family, they'll all be there watching him.

They will be there, but the players need to be there as well.

They need to show up and react for their captain," Walters stated on Triple M Radio.

His comments highlight not only Reynolds' commendable career but also the necessity for the current roster to rally together and honor their leader by performing well on the field.
