In a devastating blow for the Brisbane Broncos ahead of Magic Round, star fullback Reece Walsh will be sidelined for the clash against Manly on Friday night due to a knee injury.

Coach Kevin Walters assured fans that it was just a minor setback and Walsh should be back on the field soon, keeping his State of Origin prospects intact.

While the Broncos will definitely miss Walsh's presence on the field, young gun Selwyn Cobbo is ready to step up and showcase his skills at fullback.

Cobbo, with his impressive record against Manly, will look to continue his dominance and lead the Broncos to victory against the Sea Eagles, who will also be without their star player Tom Trbojevic.

Josiah Karapani will make his NRL debut at left centre in place of Walsh, with Walters expressing confidence in the young player's abilities.

Despite the challenges posed by injuries, Walters remains optimistic about the team's performance and believes that the Broncos have the depth and talent to overcome the odds.

As the Broncos prepare to take on Manly in what promises to be an intense showdown, the absence of Walsh will undoubtedly be felt.

However, with Cobbo in top form and new talent like Karapani stepping up, the Broncos are determined to emerge victorious and prove that they can overcome any obstacle that comes their way.
