The Brisbane Broncos have excelled in their recruitment efforts recently and are on the verge of acquiring another potential talent as they aim to enhance their roster for 2026.

Paul Turner, a former playmaker for the New Zealand Warriors, Gold Coast Titans, and St George Illawarra Dragons, is reportedly close to rejoining the NRL with the Broncos for the preseason of 2026, according to reliable sources.

The 25-year-old New Zealander made his NRL debut in 2020 and has since tallied 11 first-grade appearances. He spent the last year playing in the UK Championship with Featherstone Rovers before returning to showcase his skills in the QLD Cup with the Tweed Seagulls.

Turner's versatility allows him to play as a fullback, five-eighth, or utility, making him an appealing choice for clubs aiming to strengthen their depth for the upcoming season.

Although the deal has not been finalized, reports indicate that the Broncos are considering a preseason/trial contract for Turner instead of a long-term agreement, thus allowing him the opportunity to secure a position while mitigating risks for the club.

His career highlights include junior accolades, such as the 2019 Jersey Flegg player of the year, and promising performances with the Warriors. However, regular playing time in the NRL has been a challenge.

With newfound form in the lower grades and an exciting chance ahead, Turner seems poised to make a strong bid for his place on the roster.
