The Brisbane Broncos NRLW squad have announced that they will be honouring their teammates Toni Hunt and Lavinia Gould by wearing their initials on their jerseys for the rest of the season.
Both players are currently facing difficult personal battles off the field.
The NRLW Home and Away jerseys will be embroidered with a maroon heart above the Broncos logo, representing the support for Hunt and Gould.
The modified jerseys will be worn by the squad in their upcoming game against the Tigers in Newcastle.
Hunt has recently been diagnosed with cancer for the second time and will be taking indefinite leave as she begins chemotherapy.
Gould, on the other hand, is taking time off to support her daughter, who is in a serious condition in the hospital after complications from surgery.
The club is providing emotional and financial assistance to both players and their families during this challenging time.
They have also requested privacy for the players and their families.
GoFundMe pages have been set up by their loved ones for those who wish to show their support.
