The Brisbane Broncos are anxiously waiting for the scan results of Brendan Piakura, following an unfortunate injury sustained in their NRL Pre-Season Challenge game against the North Queensland Cowboys.
Piakura, the 21-year-old lock who was set to replace Kurt Capwell, left the field on Sunday wearing a knee brace.
There are concerns that he may not be able to play against the Sydney Roosters in the second game of the NRL season, which is scheduled to take place in Las Vegas.
Piakura's absence would be a significant blow to the Broncos' edges, as he showcased his skills by scoring two tries before leaving the field.
Coach Kevin Walters expressed his worry, stating, "We will get the results of the scans and see how bad it is." The Broncos must now hope for a positive outcome as they navigate this nervous wait.
