The Brisbane Broncos are preparing for a significant international event after a 30-year hiatus from the World Club Challenge (WCC). Despite earlier concerns about scheduling conflicts threatening the 2026 event, the reigning NRL champions have confirmed their participation.

The Broncos will compete against Hull KR, marking Hull's first encounter with Australian opponents in four decades. This matchup promises to be historic, bringing excitement to fans and players alike.

The head coach of the Broncos emphasized the importance of this opportunity in a club statement, highlighting the significance of the experience for the team. "It's a very special opportunity to take a group of players and staff across to the other side of the world to take on the Super League champions," he stated.

He added, "Travelling and sharing this experience together will only build a stronger connection between the group, and that will prepare us for what's ahead in 2026."

In his remarks, he also expressed confidence in enhancing the club's impressive trophy collection, aiming for further accomplishments following this match.
