Broncos Stay Calm as Walsh Addresses Injury Issues
The Brisbane Broncos' star Reece Walsh has come forward to defend his team during a challenging start to the season, emphasizing that their recent difficulties are not due to a lack of effort as scrutiny mounts on the reigning champions.
With the team currently positioned 12th on the ladder, boasting five wins against eight losses, their recent defeats to the Gold Coast Titans and St George Illawarra Dragons, both languishing at the bottom, have raised eyebrows.
Additionally, Walsh has faced criticism regarding his own on-field performances, particularly following an incident where he failed to challenge Titans winger Phil Sami, who scored easily last weekend.
Despite the speculation about his fitness, the dynamic fullback has firmly rejected the notion that any injury is impacting his game.
"The NRL season is tough," he remarked.
"Everyone is bound to have a niggle here and there; it's just about trying to push through it and get through it."
Although Brisbane's performances have led to external criticism, Walsh assured fans that the players are dedicated to improving their situation.
"Obviously, we are going through a tough patch at the Broncos, but one thing I can't stress enough is we are all working hard," he stated.
"It's not like we are taking the piss and not turning up and not putting in the work."
