Michael Maguire has reached his breaking point with his football team after months of defending their lackluster performances. Meanwhile, Pat Carrigan expressed that the Broncos showed a lack of "desire" in their disheartening 40-6 defeat against the Warriors at Suncorp Stadium on Saturday night.
Heading into the match, the Broncos had only secured one win in their last eleven, yet Maguire had consistently portrayed a narrative that his players were fully committed.
However, after witnessing the Warriors score seven tries on their home turf, the Broncos coach vented his frustrations during the post-match press conference.
"Not good enough, just plain and simple. We won't want to do that next weekend because we'll cop the same. It was really disappointing, that one. We're not playing the style that we know we've practised," he asserted.
Following this, a reporter asked Carrigan if it was challenging to maintain motivation knowing their chances of reaching the finals were slim. Before Carrigan could respond, Maguire quickly interjected.
"I reckon that's garbage. We're playing the team next week (Canberra) that's in the same boat. We're playing for the Broncos," Maguire insisted, emphasizing the importance of their commitment despite the situation.
